3rd Annual Production Music Conference

3rd Annual Production Music Conference

The 3rd Annual PMC (Production Music Conference) was held in Los Angeles, CA on October 17-18, 2016.  It was hugely successful with the largest number of attendees to date.  Production music representatives, composers and music supervisors from around the world gathered at The Meridien in Santa Monica to participate in panels, workshops and networking held over two days.  This year’s conference also had the greatest number of international participants, including Sonoton agents Louise Bulley of Synchro Music and Craig McGahey of Mama Dance/AfroMusique from South Africa, Guillaume Albeck of Parigo in France, and Peter Baker of Beatbox Music in Australia, among others.

The 2nd Annual Mark Awards were also held.  Gerhard Narholz had the honor and distinction of being the first recipient of the 2015 Hall of Fame Mark Award last year;  longtime industry colleague Peter Cox of EMI and KPM fame was honored at this year’s awards presentation.

The Mark Awards also honor the Best Production Music Tracks in over 20 categories.  Sonoton tracks were submitted for consideration in 10 categories, and we’re pleased to announce that Sonoton tracks were nominated in 3 categories this year, the largest number of nominations by any of the APM individual libraries. Nominations for Best Production Music Track in the following categories are:
Best EDM Track – “Around The World” by Fumitake Igarashi, Rathbone Pick, Rebekkah Friesen, SURE 113
Best Hip Hop Track – “I’m A Winner” by Adam Brostoff, James Rand, Janos Fulop & Montez Kirkland;  SURE 111
